NGC 7822 – Teddy Bear
Taken on the night of Friday 19th during the Star Party del Meridione, this image depicts NGC 7822, the Teddy Bear Nebula, a spectacular star-forming region located about 3,000 light years away from us, in the constellation of Cepheus. Amidst columns of gas and dust sculpted by the radiation of young stars, this nebula is one of the most active star-forming regions in our sky. Photographing it under the clear, deep sky of Stigliano was a precious opportunity, made even more special by the energy shared with other enthusiasts during this unique astronomical event in Southern Italy. What you see here is my personal work on this exceptional region, which will then be added to other works for the “unique photo” project organised by the G.A.S. GRUPPO ASTROFILI DEL SALENTO association. Stay tuned!
