The incredible Heart Nebula (IC1805) in the constellation of Cassiopeia. There is some incredible detail in the hydrogen gas clouds that are giving birth to new stars. You can see many bright blue super giant stars that form a star cluster (Melotte 15) at the center of the image. The brightest stars are only 1.5 million years old (versus 5 billion for the sun) and have a mass 50 times that of the sun. This nebula lies 7500 light years away from us and measure over 200 light years across. This image was shot over 4 nights and includes 25 hours of exposure time, using sulphur, hydrogen and oxygen filters.
