The Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237) is a vast, star-forming region in the constellation Monoceros, about 5,000 light-years away, known for its flower-like shape created by a central cluster of young, hot stars (NGC 2244) that have carved out a cavity in the surrounding gas and dust. Intense radiation and stellar winds from these stars cause the nebula's gas to glow, revealing intricate structures like pillars and filaments.
