NGC 1499 California Nebula SHO version
Hello everyone, after the hybrid version of the California Nebula (mixing the two masters from the respective Ultimate and Synergi filters), today I want to show you the same nebula but in the SHO version!
After the first phase of my basic PixInsight workflow (applied to both masters: SPCC, DBE, BLURXTERMINATOR, NOISEXTERMINATOR and STARXTERMINATOR), I took a new approach to forming this image. Instead of breaking it down into the three Ultimate and Synergi channels and then taking the red from one (Ha), the green from both (O3) and finally the red from the other (S2), I used a very intuitive script, simple but powerful in its finalisation. The script in question was developed by Seti Astro and is called “Perfect Palette Picker”. Here you can enter both monochrome and OSC data. In my case, I entered the Master HA/O3 (Ultimate) and S2/O3 (Synergi) in the appropriate fields and ran it (in linear phase) and that was it... the beauty of this script is that once it loads the two masters, you can pick from many versions of palettes: SHO, HOO, HSO, FORAXX, etc. Once I have obtained the image, I continue my processing with PixInsight and then finish it with Photoshop.
