After many years, I finally managed to photograph LDN 43, also known as the "Bat Nebula". The nickname comes from its characteristic shape that resembles a bat in flight.
Located in the constellation of Ophiuchus, about 500 light years from Earth, LDN 43 is a dark nebula, composed of cold and dense dust that blocks the light of the stars behind it. Inside this impenetrable cloud, new stars will form and begin the cycle of stellar life again, being born, evolving and enriching the cosmos with new elements.
