The Pinwheel Galaxy (M 101) can be found in the constellation of Ursa Major not far from the Mizar star system. It is about 20 million light years from our solar system and extends for 170,000 light years. It has a common spiral shape but presents asymmetries that were probably caused by the interaction with another galaxy.
The shots were taken last year at Palazzo Santo Spirito in Stigliano (MT-Italy) and until now I had not had time to process them.
